- witnessed a black person being called Richard Sherman because of the black person's athleticism - witnessed someone being called a beach whale because of weight - witnessed a person being called gay (not acutally gay, people have negative feelings about the person) - witnessed a person being called a calculator because of intelligence - in "To Kill A Mockingbird", Atticus says that Calpurnia had more education than most colored people |
Macroaggression
- (from "To Kill a Mockingbird") girls are always imagining stuff; they can't keep up; girls can't be with boys - In school, classmate said that old people drive slow. - In school, it was said that the Iraq flag has a bomb on it. - white men can't jump - use of the "n" word amongst black people - in "To Kill A Mockingbird", people in Maycomb County assume that black people wold cause trouble - people suggest that all Asians eat mostly rice |

macroaggression - generalized insults towards a large group of people based on race, gender, sexuallity, etc.
ethnicity - a group of people that has a common national or cultural tradition
tolerance - to willingly accept something or someone
