Art from the Dust Bowl
This photograph is from the Dust Bowl. It was taken by famous photographer Dorothea Lange. This photograph was taken in June 1938, which is in the time of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. This photograph shows a farm which is surrounded by dust. Most farms and houses were abandoned at the time of the Dust Bowl because of the dust. But, this house or farm is still occupied. This tells me that the people occupying this house or farm still has hope. I assume that they think that the rain will come and nourish the wheat. This farm or house is located in the Coldwater District, which is north of Dalhart, Texas.
